Czech

So the Czech was pretty cool. We rented a car and I finally got to drive on the autobahn which is great. Got the car pretty much up to max speed around 185 kph/115 mph which was great and legal. However, there are many a cars out there that are much faster so can't wait to test one of those suckers out. While in Prague we saw the typical touristy type things and mainly just hung out and enjoyed the life there. Met a whole bunch of random people, tried to stay away from too many places surrounded by tourists and experience what it was really like there. Prague is Prague and it was a great time all around. After Prague we went to Kutna Hora to see the bone church there which was really cool. They dug up this old cemetery a century or two ago and made a memorial with all of the bones. Reason is the cemetery is/was sacred and they ran out of space so they dug up the bodies and made all of these really neat designs and sculptures out of bones. Now there is space there for more bodies to be buried and is a really high class place for the wealthy to be buried. Since my camera is broken I'll have to wait and get some pics from friends to post on here but it was awesome nonetheless. Kutna Hora was just a slight hour or so bypass from our way from Prague to Cesky Krumlov where we spent another night. CK is kind of like a mini version on Prague and pretty low key. It's a pretty big city and all but nothing like Prague regarding the size; I had no idea how big Prague was until I got there. In Cesky we just roamed around the town and eventually ran into this place with live music which seemed like a cool place to hang for the night. However, once we walk in we notice everyone around us is dressed absolutely insane, wearing these crazy costumes similar to Halloween but even crazier. We also noticed how young everyone looked and later learned that it was an initiation party for people getting into an art school there. And they were all around the ages of 15-17 just having the time of their lives at this bar. I'd like to see that fly back in the states. Everyone there was extremely friendly and we all had a great time. Tonight some friends and myself went out to Munich for a semi going away party for a friend and made it out to the infamous Hofbrahaus. All was great until the train stopped on the way home and a friend and myself missed the bus from going to the bathroom. Next thing we know we are walking down railroad tracks for a few hours and get tired of that and finally get on the road and continue our journey back to Garmisch. For the record it's about an hour and a half train ride from Garmisch to Munich and we got off about half way so do the math and we had a lot of walking ahead of us. Anywho, we finally flagged a random Deutcher down and hitchhiked about 30 minutes all the way back to Garmisch. I don't know if I have ever been happier in my life to not be walking on railroad ties or the road having no idea where I was going or when I would make it home. Somehow, someway I made it back and here I am typing this now. Until next time....

It's been a while

So.. guess it has been a while since I was last on here. My apologies.

I have finally gotten in the groove of things and have began to make some great friends and have already had to say farewell to others. One thing that is pretty cool is that now once I am back in the states I will basically be able to visit anywhere in the country and have people I can visit and stay with.

So what all has been going on in my life here since I last posted? Quite a bit I guess! Let's see... Oktoberfest. Wow - that festival is probably the coolest and wildest festival I have ever gone to. To start with the rides are absolutely crazy. There is no way most of the rides would have flown back home. They are similar but faster with waaay more spins. Although they are a bit pricey it was well worth it. The environment is pretty wild as well with all the different nationalities and languages heard. And the beer there was phenomenal to say the least. I wound up going back to back days and have no idea how I managed to survive. After day 2 I started to get burnt out on it and had to take a break, not to mention I was completely broke afterwards.

Since then it's been more of the same ol same ol. Laundry and more laundry. And the worst part of all is getting home from work and have to do more laundry. Once I get out of that room I will never fold another towel as long as I live. Good news is we have ski instructor tryouts in a few weeks so that should be fun. Bad news is there are only 2 open positions available so we will see what happens. I am actually hoping I get a job working at the rentals so I get more free time everyday to get better quality riding in as opposed to babysitting all day. However if I am not an instructor I have to buy my own pass which is around $500. Speaking of ski season, we have been getting snow the past few days on the mountains and last night we got some snow here in town. Earlier in the week we had what I consider the worst weather ever where it's in the 30's and raining. I don't mind the snow so much but cold and rainy I can't handle. Especially riding a bike to work at 6:30 in the morning.
