Anyone know how to speak German?

So for now I am trying to figure out how to speak German because I don't have the slightest clue. I'm banking on hopefully most people speaking some English so I don't have to know too much. Figured Spanish didn't take too long to get the basics so hopefully German is the same. If anyone has any tips feel free to let me know!!
